Val Hunt - Reincarnated Rubbish

Val Hunt retrieves those everyday things we throw away and presents them in a new, fascinating dimension. Her work recycles a diverse selection of throw-away items; from foil take-away containers, computer parts, babies' discarded dummies but predominantly, her favourite material - drinks can metal. From these she has created innovative sculptures, wall hangings, hats and jewelery.

This solo exhibition encompasses the whole spectrum of Val's creative recycling. Despite her use of manufactured materials, much of her inspiration comes from natural forms (botanical and biological), historical fashion and tribal art. Patterns, colours and logos often reappear on the finished, expertly crafted objects.

This exhibition is full of witty, humorous, imaginative and thought provoking constructions which will whet the appetite and encourage everyone to experience the fun of creative recycling.

Val Hunt exhibits regularly throughout Britain (including the House of Commons) and the USA. Her work is included in permanent collections including the Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford.
